About Daily Spitpaint:
The daily spitpaint activity was started in May 2013 by Atey Ghailan and Ross Grams. They had heard Craig Mullins talk about how professional artists need to schedule "sandbox time" to try out new techniques, get out of their comfort zone, and not be afraid to fail completely. So they met on Skype each day, came up with topics, and painted them for 30 minutes. Soon it grew to roughly the current "founding team" of 6 or 7 artists. We started http://spitpainting.tumblr.com/ to post all our own speedpaints, but before long we got so many requests to join that we decided to create this Facebook group."Spitpainting" is supposed to be a hard exercise. It's to train you to generate ideas fast, paint fast, and get out of your comfort zone. You are supposed to fail. There is no "finish", you're done when the timer beeps. Think of it as a thumbnail. If you want the Real Daily Spitpaint challenge, take a random topic and start the timer immediately, so you don't have any extra time to brainstorm. You can also add other challenges like "round brush only", "no opacity control", "start with a bright pink background and leave it showing through", "lasso and gradient tools only", "paint with your right foot/tail", etc. PLEASE NOTE: This group is for a very specific activity. This is not a forum for you to share your current thoughts, chronicle your existence, post videos or music that you like, look for photoshop brushes, get private tutoring, ask for life advice, advertise your project, acquire cheap art, or anything else besides on-topic, 30-minute speedpaintings. There are lots of places to do that other stuff, but this group is not one of them.

- All works posted ranges from 15-30 minutes each, made using Infinite Painter app for Galaxy Note 10.1
- Started posting spitpaints on February 14, 2014, (last work posted here on November 26, 2014)
- Posted works in random order (will arrange and title some of them soon)
- all works posted here came from Instagram hence the square canvass and low resolution
- some of the items here deserves their own post and will be doing some spotlight soon

cheers

Optimus Train and Redzilla (Sketchbook App test)

the only works I've done using Autodesk Sketchbook app for my Galaxy Note.

Nice app, too bad it doesn't have palm rejection.

Optimus Train

Redzilla

I prefer using Photoshop Touch app, since I'm more familiar with the controls and effects.  Yeah lazy me.

Would like to use this again soon, hope i could purchase the pro version for more layers and brushes.

and oh!!! another test painting, i think this was done in a bar,
too much alcohol results into some weird alien artwork

Ultraman vs Godzilla

- sketching while having breakfast... for some reason pancakes reminded me of Ultraman.

Too late to realize how tiny GODZILLA was drawn, should've made him bigger. Oh well ballpens :/
